My Tattoo's Have Grown!!!

HAHAHA well not literally grown but more they have grown on me more and more as time goes on!!

I recently saw a interview conducted on a BBC programme where a woman was "emotionally scarred" by her tattoo's and the way they made her feel...Now let me set some records straight on this interview...She was upset but the way her 'SEVERAL' cheap, poorly chosen, generic, badly tattooed tattoos made her feel to the point where she wanted the average UK tax payer to foot the NHS bill of having them removed!!

My stance on this matter has/is and will always be the same!! Remember what goes on you is there for life (pending painful removal by lazer or new cream techniques or tattoo cover up) so take your time, choose a good artist by researching their work etc (websites, visit the shop and where possible chat with the artist) book a consultation with the artist to talk over your design and have the opportunity to ask any questions or doubts you may have. Expect to pay a bit more that your average shady shop in your local High Street will quote...Good work costs money, good tattoo designs and tattooers cost money...don't be cheap and don't rush in to anything!!

I have had the privilege of travelling to get tattoo's from some huge names in the industry!! I have paid more money than I'd like to remember on getting my ink work but I love each one of them...and recently I have come to realise I love them more and more!!

Check out some recent pics I took of some of my tattoos and the stories behind them below:

Skull with Rat (or SKULL RAT as its come to be known in my circle of friends)

Cozi and myself undertook our first holiday together in the summer of 2008 and went to Stockholm. Having checked out various shops etc we decided to go to get tattoo work from Infamous Studio's very own 'Last Angry Tattooer' Theo Jak. With a very rough idea what I was looking for and with his input and 20mins of design I got probably my favourite tattoo ever!!

Masonic Symbolism Tattoo

2009 saw us visit the London Tattoo Convention where I got a tattoo from the mind of Rudy Fritsch. My spec for this tattoo was symbolism and masonic iconography...he delivered in bucket loads of the above!!

Owl with Antlers

This tattoo was at the end of 2010 and by a friend, the ever talented Craig Ridley. I was only looking for a small tattoo to fit with the above tattoo by Rudy Fritsch. Craig took my ideas, blended the colours and aligned up the new tattoo to create a fun extension to my traditional work on my left arm.

OH DEAR GOD!!!

According to internet sources American Head Charge may be coming back...according to wikipedia:

"Stranger things have happened..."

On January 18, 2011, American Head Charge's long dormant Myspace page showed a new status update, "Stranger things have happened...", grouped with a new background and a new icon showing a disembodied hand breaking out of the ground. The name on the page was also changed from "RIP American Head Charge: 1998-2009" back to simply "American Head Charge".

THIS HAS MADE MY DAY!!!

A little lost today...

Hey peeps...whats up/new with you??

I must admit I'm a little lost today..aimless and feeling without a purpose!! As I type this blog I sit at my work desk with a strong coffee and the awesomely crazy tunes of FACT blaring out my iPhone headphones!!

A few things are currently swirling like a whirlpool in my head..

Firstly the currently situation in Japan...To say I am a Japan-Fan is probably the biggest understatement EVER!! Having been a keen lover of much of the Japanese culture to make its way to the west and having visited Tokyo in December 2008 (and subsequently arranging to honeymoon there in 2012) my heart is broken that this deeply respectful and honest people have suffered at the hands of one of the worst earthquakes in modern history and the fallout tsunami that was a byproduct. Having donated money to the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal over the weekend I urge you to give what you can to aid.

Second on my mind is the upcoming Scottish Tattoo Convention..my second ever convention and this one if purely to support this convention so Scotland see's many more in the future. Held at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th of March, I can only hope for a good turn out and a successful show.

Thirdly it is one month till North Lakes Tattoo Convention and I still haven't secured an artist for another tattoo there...stress levels are at a all time high as I like to have these things sorted well in advance!!

On the PS3 front...I'm playing and greatly enjoying Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 at the moment. Crazy nonsense military warfare at its best.

How are you?? What have you been up to??

Much love
