Valentines Massacre

Well I'm booked in for my next tattoo with Mr Greg on Valentines Day!! He did a tattoo of a horror geisha head for me last year!!



The artwork is by Chris Uminga (an American cartoon artist) the particular piece is called 'HUSH'.



I'm getting it on my inside upper left arm...notoriously sore but i think worth it :)

Go Karting X-Treme

It's 8am on a foggy Saturday morning and im in a car on the way out to try go karting!!

Apart from that I envision a quiet weekend, maybe some playstation 3 and finish Breaking Bad season 3!!

I may have a tattooist lined up for the Scottish Tattoo Convention in march as well...exciting times lol

Last Night - Recording Vocal Tracks

I had an absolute blast doing vocals last night!!

They sounded not too bad either which was a bonus hahaha I had recording rust as was expected!!

Anyway here is a few snaps of the set-up...a video clip of me will be forthcoming!!

Periphery

I am in love with Periphery...Their long awaited album finally launched last year and I was blown away when I heard it...it has, however, become even greater in my estimations with repeat listens many months later!!



Technically amazing and very tight but at the same time the melodies and lyrics are breathtaking!!



I have the chance to check them out live on February and I can't hardly wait!!

Picture this ... if you will

Bored and waiting on a train at Stirling Train Station (central Scotland) to transport me home after a night on the piss I started messing around with some apps I recently purchased for my iPhone 4...Below are the results :)





This week I record vocals on our first recorded new Genetik Blueprint track since 2006...to say I am excited is an understatement...I can't wait!!

Will try to get some pics of me in action for my blog page.

LURB

White Lies - Ritual

Well I got my copy of the new White Lies album 'Ritual' this morning...its been playing back to back on my iPhone this morning :) epic indie rock!!



I had a pretty good weekend of playing PS3, watching the Inbetweeners and generally drinking a lot of Bud 66 & Jack Daniels :)



How was your weekend?? Do much exciting...have we officially passed the January blues and entered the 'looking forward to February' time yet??

Back to the 5day Grind!!

So I am almost finished my first 5 day working week on 2011.

The abundance of coffee and office banter have been the only things getting me through...one could say work sucks...I would have to agree to be honest.



Soo whats new with me?? Well bits and bobs as you can expect.

I am still pretty hooked on Fallout New Vegas, what a game...100hrs into the Wastelands of this game and it would appear that the end is near...Don't fret...I have more games than I know what to do with at the moment...Like the awesome Heavy Rain, Star Wars - Force Unleashed II & God of War 3 :)

Am planning my new Russian themed tattoo but finding good reference points for the potential artist is proving a tad time consuming!! However looks like I shall be visiting 3 tattoo conventions this year...The very first Scottish Tattoo Convention in Edinburgh in March, North Lakes in April & London in September.

Genetik Blueprint (my band) are back in the practice room tonight and next week I record vocals for what is our first track demoed for our upcoming album. It is called 'Vertical City' and my lyrics are about someone who dies and in those final seconds of life feels himself drift to the afterlife...heavy stuff huh :p



We should have some video footage which I will try and link to my next post.

Propaganda - The Hammer & Sickle

Well in usual 'start of a new year' fashion I'm already planning what to get tattooed next on me....And what I thinking is to finally take the plunge and get some Soviet symbolism on my arm :)



There is something about the art of the Stalinist propaganda that I love...and the very symbols of the Hammer and Sickle have been symbols that have intrigued me since I studied Russian history many years back!!



Workers of the world unite...you have nothing to lose but your chains!!
